Nobody thought it could happen when the show ended seven years ago, especially as the main character, Michael Scofield, appeared to have died. However, thanks to fan power and a strong will, the show is officially coming back and reportedly it will be bigger and better than ever.

Actor Dominic Purcell, who plays Lincoln Burrows in the series, recently confirmed that the new season will contain the biggest prison escape yet of the entire series. Burrows will be returning to the show along with Wentworth Miller (who famously plays Michael Scofield), Sarah Wayne Callies as Dr.

Sara Tancredi and Robert Knepper as Theodore 'T-Bag' Bagwell, among other familiar faces. As time goes by, more information creeps out about the exciting new season five, including the fact that it will be the biggest and most exciting prison break on television ever.

Michael Scofield is alive and well

As you can see in the trailer included below, Michael is alive and well despite the fact that he was involved in an explosion at the end of season four of Prison Break.

He is now incarcerated in Ogygia prison in Yemen and Lincoln is trying to get all his allies together in an attempt to break his brother out. According to Wentworth Miller, nothing is quite as it seems in season five. As reported by iTechPost, when the actor was asked to describe his current and obviously very dangerous situation in the series, he said that all is not as it seems. Reportedly besides breaking out of the prison, getting out of Yemen itself is going to be a huge challenge for Michael due to the ISIS terrorist group causing problems for the escapee. This all promises some highly exciting, action-filled episodes as Michael tries to extricate himself from a difficult and dangerous situation.

Prison Break: bigger and better

Both Purcell and Miller, who play brothers in the show, feel that this season will be much better than previous seasons and that solid fans of the show will thoroughly enjoy it. There is no news as yet as to how the show will reveal how Michael managed to survive that explosion, but no doubt the producers of Prison Break will get around that minor detail with no problems.

The title music will be as great as before as, according to the Express, the same composer who scored the music for the show in previous years will be back for the new season. Ramin Djawadi is apparently excited about season five. When asked if he thought fans would love the newly rebooted show, Djawadi said that he hoped so but did admit that he doesn’t know too much about the storyline at this point. It turns out Djawadi is also responsible for the music of that other popular show, Game of Thrones.

Meanwhile fans will have to be patient until spring 2017 to enjoy season five of Prison Break. Enjoy a sneak peek into the show in the trailer below.
