New details surrounding the death of  the musician known as Prince have been released. Several pills that were found at the singer's home after his death have been reported to have been counterfeit tablets containing the dangerous and deadly drug Fentanyl.

Prince's death could have been prevented

As previously reported, Prince died in April unexpectedly from an accidental Opioid Fentanyl overdose at the age of 57. Investigators on the scene reportedly removed a number of prescription and over-the-counter medication containers from the singer's home.

One unnamed investigator told AP that an Aleve container was removed containing close to two dozen tablets labeled as "Watson 385" which is stamped on hydrocodone and acetaminophen tablets used to ID drugs.

It has since been revealed that at least one of the pills in the bottled contained Fentanyl, a synthetic opioid said to be 50 times stronger than heroin.

Is foul play behind Prince's death?

Following the "Purple Rain" hitmaker's autopsy, it was determined that the cause of death was due to an overdose of Fentanyl. It has also been revealed that Prince did not have any prescriptions for any controlled substances in Minnesota for a year prior to his death. It is unknown at this time how the singer obtained access to the medications. The medications were said to have been found hidden away in the singer's travel bag that he carried on his person. There was even one prescription bottle found that had been prescribed in someone else's name.

As the investigation into the singer's death continues this new information has sparked many questions in fan's minds, who, are beginning to wonder if some sort of foul play was behind the entertainer's death.
