Naya Rivera is holding nothing back. The actress recently reveald in her soon-to-be published Book that she got an abortion in late 2010 when she discovered she was pregnant just weeks after breaking up with actor Ryan Dorsey, whom she later married in 2014. Rivera reveals that she chose not to tell Dorsey about the abortion at the time, and that it was a difficult decision to make. Naya says that she had the procedure done during an off day of filming at her former TV series "Glee."

Naya shares her story with the world in new memoir

Naya Rivera says she chose to open up about her abortion, even though it is not something that many people feel comfortable talking about.

The actress confesses that she hopes her story will help something else out there who may "get something out of it." Meanwhile, now Naya is the mother of an 11-month-old baby boy with Ryan named Josey Dorsey. It seems that Josey may have been a big inspiration to Rivera when she decided to write her memoir and share her story with the world. 

Naya Rivera took to her Twitter account this week to address the book and the abortion news inside, saying that she set out to write the memoir that was true to herself, and that she hopes all of her fans enjoy the story and respect the "good intentions" she had in sharing it with the world. Naya's fans sent her an outpouring of love and support for sharing her story and called her brave for being able to tell it in a positive way.

Other 'Glee' stars are also authors

Meanwhile, Naya Rivera isn't the only former "Glee" star who dove into the world of writing. Lea Michele, who played lead character Rachel Berry on Fox's hit musical series has also penned books, which focus on health in all aspects. Chris Colfer, who played fan favorite character Kurt Hummell has also tried his hand at writing and has penned multiple books including the New York Times bestselling "The Land Of Stories" series, which is aimed toward young readers. 

Other "Glee" stars have gone on to do other TV projects, movies, and even appear on stage.
