Keith Urban’sWasted Time” finally breaks the string of one-week Number Ones on the Country Airplay Chart.  However, Jason Aldean’sLights Come On” outgained “Wasted Time” 3.884 million to 2.944 million, closing the gap between the two songs to only 452,000 impressions.  Nevertheless, Urban remains at Number One for a second week, while Aldean has to settle for a third-straight week at number two.

Songs set to challenge “Wasted Time” in the coming weeks

Two days into this week’s tracking period, “Lights Come On” has already pulled ahead of “Wasted Time” on Mediabase’s Country Airplay Chart.

So Aldean looks likely to take over the Number One slot on next week’s survey.  The gains for Carrie Underwood’sChurch Bells” have slowed considerably.  While Underwood may not reach Number One, she could pass Urban for next week's number two slot if he continues losing audience at a more rapid rate.

FGL’s “H.O.L.Y” still selling and streaming strongly

Florida Georgia Line’s (FGL) “H.O.L.Y.” continues to make substantial airplay gains, and will probably reach Number One on Country Radio in two weeks.  “H.O.L.Y.” spends its ninth week at Number One on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs Chart, which also measures sales and streaming in addition to airplay.

FGL now ranks at an impressive number 14 on the Billboard Hot 100 (combining all songs from all formats), where “H.O.L.Y.” wins the overall Digital Sales Gainer award for the week.  To put FGL’s lead over the number two song on the Hot Country Songs Chart, “Church Bells” places at number 45 on this week’s Billboard Hot 100, or 31 positions behind "H.O.L.Y."
