Movie star Tom Cruise casually landed his private helicopter yesterday in the Old Rutlishian Sports Ground, right in the middle of Merton Park, not far from Wimbledon. This left Londoners in awe when the actor made the surprise visit.

Set Down For Filming or Watching Tennis?

On Thursday morning, Merton Park got a taste of Hollywood as the 53-year-old star flew into the local sports ground to shoot scenes for his latest film, Jack Reacher: Never Go Back. Tom Cruise was photographed by a passerby arriving at the sports ground.

Old Ruts Football Club then tweeted saying that they are hoping it would not be a mission impossible for their coming football season, as Mr. Top Gun himself had dropped by Poplar Road.

Whisked away.

After the actor landed, he was immediately whisked away in a BMW, apparently to film some scenes for his latest movie. However, The Sun in London suggested that the Hollywood actor might have been on his way to watch tennis at Wimbledon. However, there were rumors that there was increased security around the Wimbledon Studios on Deer Park Road.

Parking spaces were being restricted from 9 p.m. until 1 a.m.
