Leah Messer shared a photo of herself in a bikini over the weekend and was immediately faced with criticism. Although the Teen Mom 2 star has fluctuated in size in recent years, she appears to be at her smallest and many of her fans and followers have felt that she is simply too thin. Following tons of backlash on Instagram and around the web, Messer took to Twitter where she defend herself. In a series of posts, the reality star and mother of two slammed reports of her "drastic" weight loss and referred to a handful of her critics as "idiots."

Leah Messer went on to accuse the outlet SheKnows of promoting "plastic" and using old photos of her to make it seem that she's lost a lot of weight.

According to Messer, the "before" photo was taken just months after she gave birth to her twin girls, Ali and Aleeah, now 6, in 2010, while the new photo was taken over the weekend, over three years after she gave birth to her youngest daughter, 3-year-old Adalynn.

Leah Messer's fans fear she is back on drugs

Although Messer doesn't seem to think she's lost much weight at all, her Instagram followers aren't so sure and some have accused her of being on drugs. "Back on drugs again?" one person asked. Another added, "[I] hope you're not taking opiates again."

"As someone who had a past opiate addiction... The weight loss, teeth, constantly pinned eyes are not good signs," a third commenter added. "This is a sign of something wrong. It's sad."

Leah Messer went to treatment last year

Following months of rumors regarding her alleged drug use, which she denied, Messer traveled to a treatment center in Arizona.

However, despite speaking of a dependency on her prescription pain pills during Teen Mom 2  season six, Messer insisted she went to treatment in an effort to address her issues with anxiety and depression -- not her reported addiction to drugs.

Leah Messer and her family are in the midst of production on the upcoming season of Teen Mom 2. The series is expected to return to MTV either later this year or early next year.
