Taylor Swift may only be 26-years-old, but according to the Forbes Celebrity 100 list of the world’s highest-paid entertainers, the female musician made $170 million over the past year. Forbes published its list on Monday afternoon and covers the income of show business celebrities from June 2015 to June 2016. The list includes musicians, actors, television personalities, athletes and even magicians. The income seen below is before taxes and before the celebrities paid any fees to agents, managers, or lawyers. Forbes explains that the income is based on information provided by Nielsen, Pollstar, Box Office Mojo, Songkick and IMDB, “as well as interviews with industry insiders and many of the stars themselves.”

Taylor Swift leads the top 10

After Taylor Swift with an income of $170 million, spot number two goes to One Direction with $110 million.

Author James Patterson $95 million) took spot number three and the fourth place goes both to TV personality Dr. Phil McGraw and athlete Cristiano Ronaldo (both with $88 million). Spot six, seven, eight, nine and ten went to comedian Kevin Hart ($87.5 million), Howard Stern ($85 million), athlete Lionel Messi ($81.5 million), Adele ($80.5 million) and Rush Limbaugh with $79 million.

If you are looking for more top female earners, you can find them now. After athlete LeBron James (with $77 million) in spot 11, Madonna took spot number 12 with $76.5 million, followed by Ellen DeGeneres and Rihanna both on spot number 13 with $75 million.

After Taylor Swift, Adele, Ellen DeGeneres, Rihanna, and Madonna, however, Forbes' list of the world's 100 top earning celebrities is dominated by male representatives of Hollywood and the show business.

Garth Brooks (number 15 with $70 million), athlete Roger Federer (number 16 with $68 million), AC/DC (number 17 with $67.5 million), the Rolling Stones (number 18 with $66.5 million) actor Dwayne Johnson ($64.5 million) and magician David Copperfield ($64 million) are rounding up the first 20 top earners.

No female top celebrity earners in spots 21 to 30

The fact that there are no women in the next 10 of Forbes list of top earners has many asking about gender equality and pay in Hollywood and the show business. Calvin Harris (number 21 with $63 M), Sean Combs (with $62 M), Jackie Chan (with $61 million), Bruce Springsteen (with $60.5 M), and Paul McCartney (with $56.5 M) are all male artists that took spots 22 to 25, respectively.

Justin Bieber, Kenny Chesney, Novak Djokovic, and athlete Kevin Durant all placed as number 26 on Forbes list because they all earned $56 million. The same applies to the number 30 top celebrity earners Matt Damon, Ryan Seacrest, U2, and The Weeknd since they all earned $55 million.

Where are all the other famous female top earners?

As seen in part two of this article and the continuation of Forbes top 100 list, Beyoncé Knowles is heading the next top earners with her $54 million. However, if you are looking for “The Big Bang Theory” star Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting or Sandra Bullock on Forbes list of the world’s 100 celebrity earners, look no further.
