It seems that Hollywood is rebooting everything these days. It could be a way to introduce old characters to a new generation or it maybe because Hollywood is running out of ideas. It's probably a little bit of both. In any case, Hollywood seems to have its eyes set on roles that made Tim Curry semi-famous. If you don't know who he is, here's a look back at his most iconic characters.

1. The Legend of Tim Curry

If you were a fan of 1980's fantasy and Tom Cruise, then you happened upon a little known film called Legend. It was the tale of two lovebirds in a mystic land whose happiness is upended by the devil (Curry). What followed is the scariest movie devil every created, and with films and Television shows having the devil look more and more handsome and charming these days, it's no surprise that this look has yet to be duplicated.

2. Stephen King's It

Way back in 1990, horror writer Stephen King released a made for TV miniseries called It. It introduced the now iconic Pennywise the clown, a.k.a. the scariest clown on the face of the planet until American Horror Story introduced Twisty. This clown was cute and unassuming until you stuck your arm down a street drain and he bit it off with is razor sharp teeth. For people who have coulrophobia, that is a fear of clowns, Pennywise is the source of all of their greatest fears.

Unfortunately, since Hollywood likes to top itself, a remake is being made starring Bill Skarsgard as the new Pennywise. He's got some big shoes to fill and we're not just saying that because their clown shoes.

3. Let's do the time warp again!

In 1975, a movie that would become a cult classic premiered and featured a host of taboo subjects that seem tame when compared to society's current moral compass. The Rocky Horror Picture Show was a about a drag queen named Rocky (Curry) who lived with a host of creepy characters. One night an innocent couple gets stranded and embark on a wild journey of sexual promiscuity and debauchery, which the film glorifies.

The movie has been played every Halloween in many independent theaters nationwide since it's release and it's movie goers come dressed in drag and any other Rocky Horror costume they can find. They bring props like toast and throw them at the screen during a specific scene. For them, this film never gets old.

Of course, Hollywood thought differently. The FOX network has just released a new trailer for it's Rocky Horror Picture Show television series, which is set to premiere in the fall of 2016.

It stars Orange Is The New Black's Laverne Cox as the new Rocky and it must be said, she does a pretty good job at the impersonation. Still, it's not enough to make the world to forget about Curry's original portrayal.
