The finale of 'Game of Thrones' season six was an emotional rollercoaster full of high-profile events. While fans are waiting for season 7, here are some whimsical theories that have already started to emerge about what will happen.

Samwell Tarly at the Citadel, after he steals sword Heartsbane

We know that Sam's father, Randyll, Lord of Horn Hill wasn’t impressed by his plans to train as a maester. Sam decided to leave his father's house. He had stolen his heirloom sword Heartsbane in the process. The act is bound to have consequences. Meanwhile he arrived at the Citadel, the headquarters of the Order of Maesters who advise the Seven Kingdoms on matters medical, historical, and scientific.

Samwell will have to stash Gilly and young Sam somewhere while in the ivory towers learning.

Howland Reed and Bran’s vision

In Game of Thrones season 6 Bran has a vision in which he sees events from the past. Bran already saw many times the Tower of Joy, where Howland Reed helped Ned Stark battle and he’s the only one who really knows the fate and Jon's parentage. So he will have an important role next season. On the other hand we saw Howland’s daughter, Meera Reed, save Bran from the Night's King and the White Walkers. Some fans believe that Meera might in fact be Jon’s sister.

Arya will become Lady Stoneheart

Arya will take on the Stoneheart role in season 7. Arya and Sandor, 'the Hound' in season 7 could have a mutual enemy 'The Mountain'. We remember that Arya stole the Hound's gold. It’s certain that there will be a duel between "The Mountain" Clegane and his brother "The Hound"

Jaime will kill Cersei

Maggy the Frog also predicted that Cersei will be killed by someone referred to as “the Valonqar.” or a “little brother.” So Cersei could be killed by her younger and hated brother, Tyrion, or Jaime.

Indeed Jaime is her younger twin. Many fans believe there would be something poetic if Jaime could be the murderer. Others popular theories suggest Arya Stark or Tyrion Lannister will kill Cersei.

Strange theory about Varys

Is Varys is a merman? This explains the speed with which Varys travelled the long distance from Meereen to Dorne. He might have swam with the help of a fishtail. Indeed probably Varys will help Daenerys to expand her territory and will fight Cersei Lannister and the White Walkers with fire in the north.

Euron Greyjoy could attacks Cersei

King Euron Greyjoy will be too busy for a while building his thousand ships to come after his rebellious nephew and niece. In George RR Martin's books, he starts causing trouble for Cersei Lannister in Westeros.

Jorah Mormont and Greyscale: a biological weapon

We remenber that Daenerys sent Jorah Mormont off to find the cure for greyscale. The disease might ultimately be used as a "biological weapon."
