Donald Trump’s wife stood up and made a speech about ‘values’, something she has been mocked for as she has been accused of not ‘knowing the first things about values’. Several of the lines of Melania’s speech were far too similar to those of currently First LadyMichelle Obama’s 2008 speech. In fact, they weren’t just similar, they were in fact the same words, that had just been put in a slightly different order, or had been shortened.

Donald Trump’s wife’s speech mirrors Michelle’s

Some of the lines that Melania copied from Michelle’s speech include:

M.Obama – "You work hard for what you want in life"

M.Trump- "The values, that you work hard for what you want in life"

M.Obama- "That your word is your bond, that you do what you say you’re guna do"

M.Trump- "That your word is your bond, and you do what you say, and keep your promise"

M.Obama- "That you treat people with dignity and respect"

M.Trump- "That you treat people with respect"

M.Obama- "Barack and I set out to build lives guided by these values, and to pass them on to the next generation"

M.Trump- "And we need to pass those lessons on, to the many generations to follow"

M.Obama- "Because we want our children and all children in this nation to know that the only limit to the height of your achievements is the reach of your dreams and your willingness to work hard for them"

M.Trump- "Because we want our children in this nation to know that the only limit to your achievements is the strength of your dreams and your willingness to work for them"

Melania Trump is Donald Trump’s third wife, the Yugoslavian born former model speaks limited American, so her speech was written by high-powered speech-writers who made the mistake of ruining one of the most important speeches of Melania Trump’s life.

Donald Trump hired speech-writers to help his wife, they have formally apologized for mistake

The speech was written by Meredith McIver who has explained how the plagiarism occurred, she said “in working with Melania Trump on her recent First Lady speech, we discussed many people who inspired her and messages she wanted to share with the American people. A person she has always liked is Michelle Obama. Over the phone she read me some passages from Mrs. Obama’s speech as examples. I wrote them down and later included some of the phrasing in the draft that ultimately became the final speech. I apologize for the confusion and hysteria my mistake has caused.”
