Amy Jackson is a pure English girl who was born in 1992. She has blazed a trail by being the first English girl who has made it big in Hindi and Tamil cinema. India produces the world's largest number of films, but most cater only to the Indian diaspora all over the world. However, Hindi films are popular in the Middle East. For long no English girl ventured into Indian cinema as the language was a barrier. Amy Jackson broke this barrier and has been a hit. She has starred in some blockbusters as well.

Rise of Amy

Amy was born in the Isle of Man. She has been modeling from the age of 16 and won the 2009 Miss Teen World title and the 2010 Miss Liverpool crown.

In the same year, Tamil film director AL Vijaya spotted her on a visit to the UK and auditioned her for a role in the Tamil film Madrasapattinam. It is the tale of a British governor's daughter who falls in love with a village lad. She got the role and the film was a hit. In India, the top films are produced in Mumbai in Hindi. Amy got her chance in 2012 and was the heroine of the film  Ek Diwana Tha (once there was a lover). She made it big in Mumbai with the release of her film Singh is Bling opposite the top Hindi film star Akshay Kumar. She has been ranked #1 in the Times of India Chennai edition as the most desirable girl for 2014. She has signed some more blockbuster movies and will be seen in the coming film 2.0 starring the top Tamil star Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar as well.

It is a tribute that now she has mastered Tamil and Hindi. She is also learning Urdu and will star in a period film soon. Amy divides her time between London and Mumbai and as yet is a single girl. She had an affair with the Indian Actor Pratiek Babbar but now has an English boyfriend. Along with Amy, another girl from Canada Katrina Kaif has also made a bigger splash on the Hindi screen and she is rated number one among all heroines. Amy has a bright future in Indian films and one will see more of her on the Indian screen.
