Demi Lovato feels in shock because she always had the idea in her head that she would die young and that she never saw herself reaching the age of 21. The young star is very proud of where is she now, she is very successful, is rich and is talented. I didn’t think I would make it to 21.” She also reveals that her body image issues rooted from childhood as her mother was bulimic, “even though I was 2 or 3 years old, being around someone who was 80 pounds and had an active eating disorder, it’s hard not to grow up like that.”

It was in 2010 that Lovato really started to take control of her life, she checked in to Rehab with the focus of improving her struggles with bulimia and her bipolar disorder. However, she revealed that just when one problem would start to repair, another would worsen, “Once I started eating again, the other issues got worse.

It was like Whack-a-Mole. I didn’t go into treatment thinking ‘OK, now I’m going to be an inspiration’, at times I was resentful of having that kind of responsibility, but now, it’s really become a part of my life. It holds me accountable.”

Lovato has always had a huge fan base and so they travel through the journey with her, seeing her when she struggles and seeing her when she is strong, many have praised Demi for the way in which she has managed to gain control of her life and battle through the issues she faces.

Demi’s struggles have not disappeared but she is supported and is in control and powers through, for her own sake, for the sake of her friends and family and for the sake of those she is a role-model to.
