Angelina Jolie, the famous ‘Tomb Raider’ and ‘Mr & Mrs Smith’ star is rumoured to be starring in Ken Branagh’s film adaptation of Agatha Christie’s classic novel ‘Murder on The Orient Express’ which is a story on the mystery of the murder of an American tycoon. If the rumours are true and Angelina Jolie does star in the film she will be the first of an all-star cast. Angelina Jolie is famous for being an actress but in recent years she has also been directing her own films such as ‘First They Killed My Father: A Daughter of Cambodia Remembers’, ‘By the Sea’ and ‘Unbroken’, among several others.  Angelina Jolie Pitt has been an intermittent face on our screens lately and has suggested that she would like to make a permanent move to directing.

Jolie made her screen debut in 1982 and has since been listed as Hollywood’s highest-paid actress; therefore there must be high hopes for film 'Murder on The Orient Express’.

Angelina Jolie should play Harriet Hubbard

If the American mother of six was to join the murder mystery film set on the legendary railway train that once connected Paris to Istanbul, she would take on the role of Mrs Harriet Hubbard, whose character in the original film was played by Lauren Bacall. The film sees Belgian detective Hercule Poirot trying to solve the murder case on-board the famous train. There have already been several adaptations of the British novel both in the US and in other countries, but Branagh’s film adaptation is sure to be a huge hit on the screens and with viewers. The filming would begin in November and would most likely including film locations such as London and Malta, alongside director Kenneth Branagh are producers Aditya Sood, Michael Schaefer as well as Ridley Scott and Simon Kinberg.

At the moment the release date of the film is unknown and there have not been any leaks yet in reference to which other famous stars might be cast in the film. Another recent film which stars Angelina Jolie was Disney’s Maleficent and Jolie has apparently committed to making a sequel of Maleficent for Disney.
