Terminator Genisys was directed by Alan Taylor (Thor: The Dark World) and features Arnold Schwarzenegger (The Terminator), Emilia Clarke Sarah Connor), Jai Courtney (Kyle Reese), Jason Clarke (John Connor), and others. It’s a must-see for the real fans but left many people wanting. Perhaps it’s a good start for new viewers, perhaps better sequels are to come, if they ever get made.

What is the story?

The war with Skynet has been going on for a long time.

It’s now 2029. Lead by John Connor, the humans destroy the machine’s defenses, but then Skynet has a surprise: a new T-800 (Arnold Schwarzenegger) is sent back through time to kill his mother, Sarah Connor, before he is born.

Kyle Reese is sent back to 1984, but a twist in time has changed expectations of a weak Sarah who is now teamed up with the Terminator (Arnold Schwarzenegger) and has become a strong fighter herself.

But the machine also has a stronger model to fight with, the T-3000, and John Connor himself, who appears and reveals nasty secrets…

The romance finally blooms between Kyle and Sarah, and they will give birth to John Connor. Reese has to reset the future.

Bottom Line

Although I didn’t expect much from the aging Arnold Schwarzenegger, he surprised me. “Pops” is still the hero and I love the line “I’m old, not obsolete”, but there were too many twists on an already twisted story!

Celebrities

The emotions lack in this movie. Paramount has canceled the sequel, which tells you how poorly it was received by the public. The first two Terminator films were great, they are classics, this one was not. Enjoyed seeing Arnold again, but in the whole, it left me empty.
