Love is a new romantic comedy available on Netflix for streaming. Created by Judd Apatow (The 40 Year Old Virgin), and starring Paul Rust and Lesley Arfin, the show will bring to the public weird, frustrating, and pleasing scenes of dating in Los Angeles. Also, Love is one of the shows the streaming company is using as an investment on original material

About the TV Show

The TV show will bring us Gus (Paul Rust), a tutor for a child TV start, and Mickey (Gillian Jacobs), a radio producer, into a journey of awkward intimacy, commitment and dating life in L.

A. The story is somewhat close to the off-screen marriage between Rust and Lesley Arfin (co-creator).

Rust said they wanted to shoot in Los Angeles because in New York (before Uber) is much easier to find someone at bar. Then you have a few drinks and go back home by subway or a cab. However in L. A. things are different because each one has a car and if drive to someone’s house you just hope to find a good parking spot.

Ted Sarandos, Netflix content executive, said Judd Apatow is comic and shocking at the same time.

Appatow, Rust and Lesley have made a modern and intense experience of dating today, full of anguish and joy.

Appatow compare his show as “Girls”. He commented on the way Girls focused on Brooklyn being the date scene, and that in the same way but for Los Angeles. He saw as an opportunity. Even though, it is more expensive to shoot in L. A. the producers found a way of making it possible.

Second season

The first season has 10 episodes and second season has already being approved for 2017.

First season was filmed in 69 locations and took 49 days.

It is an average of 5 days per episode. Location producer Jordana Kronen said the goal was to represent to the young adults chasing their careers and life through L. A. most famous site scenes. Rusty stated to be very happy about shooting in L. A. and how that he wants people to remember the shooting places as the place they filmed Love.
