Veteran Grammy-winning star Charlie Daniels has a major reason to celebrate. He will be inducted into the prestigious Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum as part of the class of 2016.

Daniels is being inducted into the "Veterans Era Artist" category.In 2008, he was made a member of the Grand Ole Opry, and in 2009, he was inducted into the Musicians Hall of Fame. A true road warrior, Daniels continues to perform over 100 concerts a year.

Charlie Daniels: Winner of many career accolades

Daniels' illustrious career in the music industry has spanned more thanfive decades, and he has sold in excess of 20 million albums worldwide.He has been honored with such awards as Grammys, Country Music Association (CMA) awards, Academy of Country Music (ACM) awards, as well as Dove Awards from the Gospel Music Association (GMA).

Six of his studio albums have been certified multi-platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA); moreover, his signature song "The Devil Went Down to Georgia" has been certified platinum and it won him a Grammy award for "Best Country Vocal Performance by a Duo or Group."

Daniels: A true 'American Patriot'

Aside from his musical endeavors, Daniels has been an outspoken American Patriot, who has been a strong supporter of the United States military. His volunteer jam concerts have gained a substantial amount of popularity worldwide, and they have featured such special musical guests as Lynyrd Skynyrd, rocker Ted Nugent, country singer Trace Adkins and country group Alabama, among many others, all while raising money for the United States military.

Daniels'40th anniversary Volunteer Jam, which was held in 2015, was extremely successful. It raised over $300,000 for "The Journey Home Project," which is a non-profit veterans assistance charitable organization, whichwasco-founded by Daniels.

This year, Daniels will be joined in the Country Music Hall of Fame with fellow country hit-makerRandy Travis, who has been a member of the Grand Ole Opry since 1986.
