Actor Kiefer Sutherland has gone country. He premiered his new music video for his new country song "Not Enough Whiskey" on the media outlet Rolling Stone Country. The single will be available for purchase on iTunes starting on April 1. "Not Enough Whiskey" is the debut track from his forthcoming studio album, "Down In a Hole," which will be released this summer on his independent record label.

He is best known for his starring role as Jack Bauer on the Fox television series 24, and he has starred in such films as Stand By Me, The Lost Boys, Young Guns, Flatliners, A Few Good Men, A Time to Kill, The Three MusketeersDark City and Melancholia; moreover, he has starred in a western entitled Forsaken, and he may be seen in the forthcoming series on ABC, Designated Survivor.

For his acting work on the drama series 24, Sutherland has won an Emmy award, a Golden Globe and two Screen Actors Guild (SAG) awards.

Kiefer Sutherland to release new album

The British-born, Canadian actor co-penned all 11 tracks on his forthcoming CD, which was produced by singer-songwriter and record producer Jude Cole. The full track-listing for his album will be announced at a later date. Sutherland noted in a press release that this album is the "closest thing" that he has ever had to a "journal or diary," especially because all the songs on there are drawn from his own personal experiences. This album is expected to touch people.

Sutherland to tour to promote 'Down In a Hole'

In an effort to promote this new musical project, Sutherland will be embarking on a nationwide tour, which will make stops in 32 cities. His tour will kick off on April 14 in Wisconsin at Shank Hall, and it will wrap up on May 28 at the Stephen Talkhouse in Amagansett, New York. On May 25, he will perform at the Founders Room on Long Island in New York.
