Limitless is a drama staring Jake MacDorman as Brian Finch, who discovers the brain-boosting power of the mysterious drug NZT, opening the full possibility of his brain and giving him perfect recall of everything he has ever read, heard, or seen. He is coerced by the FBI into using his extraordinary cognitive abilities to solve complex cases for them.

Working closely with Brian is Rebecca Harris, a formidable investigator with a dark past, and Agent Boyle -- formerly of the military. They report to Special Agent in Charge Nasreen “Naz” Pouran, a character that easily manipulates the reins of power.

Without the knowledge of the FBI, Brian also has a clandestine relationship with Senator Edward Morra (Bradley Cooper), a presidential hopeful and regular user of NZT.Impulsed by a steady supply of NZT that enables him to use 100% of his brain capacity, Brian is more effective than all of the FBI agents combined, making him the worst nightmare of the criminals and the greatest asset the Bureau has ever possessed.

Limitless is based on the film of the same name which was originally based on the novel The Dark Field, and takes place after the events of the movie. On October 23, 2015, CBS picked up Limitless for a full season of 22 episodes.

On January 5th, the twelfth episode was aired, titled “The Assassination of Eddie Morra,” and on January 19th, the episode "Stop Me Before I Hug Again" also aired.

The review aggregator website Rotten Tomatoe reports a 59% approval rating with an average rating of 6.3/10 based on 44 reviews. The website's critics consensus reads, "Even with a likable hero, Limitless cannot overcome its credulity-straining premise and shaky, hole-riddled narrative." On Metacritics, the series holds an average score of 57 (out of 100 points) based on 30 critics.

However, while Scorpion had to build itself from the ground up, Limitless is coming into things with a nice chunk of its world already created, and that benefit shines through greatly in the premiere episode.
