But, according to a close source, they are not planning tomake the promised comeback, and the split looks to be permanent.

One Direction might be one of the most successful boy bands in the world, but they never intended to be in a band.

They dreamed individually, and the five boys tried to make a solo career when they participated in the British X Factor in 2010.But, asSimon Cowell put them together, they started the band. They reached the big final and they finished the contest in third place.

After the talent show was over, success came quickly for them. With the help of renowned Simon Cowell, they became very influential artists with legions of fans that call themselvesthe Directioners.

After five albums and performances all around the world, they decided to make a breakandtake some rest, but, it's also possible that that very break could become a permanent one. "They’ll remain friends, but they are exhausted and want solo careers," an insider said to US Weekly.

They'll split after the hiatus
