Will Jon Snow Rise From the Dead in Episode 1?

After all the summer hearing from GoT creators Weiss and Benioff that Jon Snow is dead and reading theories about why he is or why he is not dead, one thing is pretty much clear now -- we will see Jon Snow in Season 6. We have evidence to support this:

  • Kit Harrington who portrays Jon Snow was seen filming fighting scenes in Game of Thrones location in Belfast, Ireland
  • Jon Snow is on an official HBO poster for Game of Thrones Season

Considering that Season 6 is based on yet unpublished book by author George R.R. Martin titled 'The Winds of Winter,' we might say that something will definitely be happening at the Wall, sooner or later. The number 1 character connected to the Wall is Jon Snow. This is basically the case for Jon Snow having a scene already in Episode 1 -- If stuff is going to go down at the Wall, Jon Snow will definitely be there. What's more, he will probably be the main character with everything that's going to happen at the Wall and north of the Wall.

There's just no other strong character that could take the winds of winter.

Jon Snow might come back but not come back to life. This is the most mainstream theory based on the poster for Season 6 which you can see. Jon Snow is depicted as alive but with blue eyes which are distinctive of the White Walkers. As far as his resurrection goes, we know that red priests like Thoros of Myr have the ability to bring people back to life -- he did it with Lord Dondarrion. However, White Walkers can also raise people who were slain -- and remember, Jon Snow was slain by his own Nights Watch brothers -- but they become zombie-like. More undead than living.
