Glenn Frey died on Monday, January 18 in New York, according to Reuters. Frey was one of the founding members of the famous band the Eagles. He was also a singer, songwriter, and a guitarist. He was 67 years old. The cause of his death was complications arising from rheumatoid arthritis, ulcerative colitis, and acute pneumonia.

The Eagles confirmed the information in a press release on their official website.

Eagles, known worldwide mostly due to the song "Hotel California" had a great impact on 70's American music. Nearly half a century after their launch, Eagles remained a constant presence at most radio stations all over the world.

Many of the Eagles hit songs were composed by Glenn Frey in collaboration with Don Henley. He said that the band will reunite only when "Hell would freeze over." Once reunited, they performed numerous concerts, and in 1998 the band was included in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Glen Frey was born in Detroit on November 6, 1948. He married Cindy Frey and they had 3 children.
