Fast and Furious 8 will debut in the American cinemas on April 14, 2017. The Brazilian, German, Dutch, British, Norwegian, Swedish, Turkish and Polish premier dates have already been set as well. The list of the officially-announced actors contains only Vin Diesel, Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham. But we would bet major money that Tyrese Gibson, Michelle Rodriguez and Ludacris will also be in the eighth episode.

Earlier, the star and producer of the series, Vin Diesel was also mentioned as a potential director, but it has turned out that the eighth episode will be directed by a newcomer in the franchise, F.

Gary Gray, who is an experienced director. Gray has directed films such as the Samuel L. Jackson – Kevin Spacey-thriller, "The Negotiator," ""A Man Apart (starring Diesel) and "The Italian Job," the comedy titled," Be Cool," and "Law Abiding Citizen" with Gerard Butler.

Gray’s last film, "Straight Outta Compton," is a drama that shows the beginning of the careers of Ice Cube, Dr. Dre, Eazy-E and others. This summer it was a great blockbuster in America. And not only the audiences but the critics loved it as well, and the production cost only from $30 million, but brought an income of $200 million worldwide.

In 2001, Fast and Furious was set in Los Angeles, but later the crew traveled to Florida, Tokyo, South America, England, Spain and Abu-Dzabi as well. Lately, Vin Diesel has let on that according to the original plans even the first episode would have been set in New York – and now, in the eighth episode they will accomplish it. Michelle Rodriguez (who seems to be in the movie for real) is really looking forward to the shooting in New York as she lives there, but since her 2001 movie, "Girlfight," she hasn’t made any films in NYC.Vin Diesel has announced on his own Facebook page how many further episodes can be expected in the continuously expanding series.

“Universal Studio (...) trusts our vision. I promised them I would deliver a last trilogy to end the saga” – wrote the bald star.

According to the current information, the eighth episode coming in April 2017 will be followed by Fast and Furious 9 and 10 as well – but after these, the fans will have to say goodbye to their favorites. But we can never be sure, as allegedly Agent Hobbs (Dwayne Johnson’s character) might get his own separate film in the future.
