For the pleasure of the fans, Lorelai and Rory, the Gilmore Girls might return soon, because Netflix is planning to resurrect the popular series. Allegedly, the streaming multimedia service is negotiating about itscontinuation. It would be filmed with the original cast, starring big names likeLauran Graham and Alexis Bledel, and with the cooperation of Amy Sherman-Palladino idea manager.

According to the news, people at Netflix are not thinking about a usual ten episode season.

They would rather prepare to four episodes of 90 minutes length. (That is, it would be a series, but the creators would rather make less film-length episodes.) The idea of the restart of Gilmore Girls probably originates from the fact that on Netflix a lot of people have been watching the earlier episodes of the soap opera nowadays, which was on TV between 2000 and 2007.

The popular series consisted of 153 episodes and seven seasons.

But the last season was on TV without the cooperation of the original idea manager, Sherman-Palladino, because of the disagreements concerning her contract. So the project of Netflix is a great opportunity for her as well. She was complaining in a TV festival’s interview that it caused her a feeling of lack that she couldn’t cooperate in the closing season of the series.

But the bad news is that Melissa McCarthy will probably not appear in the new episodes as she has become a Hollywood superstar since that.

However, negotiations are still going on, insiders say thatthe shootings might start at the beginning of the next year. In addition to Gilmore Girls,Netflix wants to restart other series, for example, they are making new episodes for the sitcom Full House and Arrested Development as well.

The streaming service of Netflix was founded in 1997 in the Californian Los Gatos. Netflix’s available movies and series can be watched in more than forty countries of the world.

However, it’s still the most popular in the USA: from the total of 69.17 million viewers currently more than 43 million are American. Since 2011 the service has been creating its own projects besides providing streaming services.
