The popular Game of Thrones actress who portrays the iconic mother of dragons Daenerys Targaryen on the hit HBO series is being named Esquire 'Sexiest Woman Alive' in 2015.

The 28 year old English actress has already received two Emmy Award nominations for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series in 2013 and 2015, so she has certainly proven that she is more than just a pretty face with a talent that continues to build a successful career in the Hollywood industry.

She recently starred in the movie Terminator Genisys, the fifth installment of the popular film series franchise, portraying the character of Sarah Connor alongside Arnold Schwarzenegger, reprising his role as the eponymous character. Although the movie failed to achieved critical and fans acclaim, it has nonetheless made over $400 million  worldwide in the box office.

In the interview with Esquire, the actress talks about the fact that she wasn't the first choice for the role of Daenerys, since the original pilot for the show was shot without the actress, but thankfully they had to recast some roles because apparently nobody was happy with it.

Emilia says that her agent told the casting director, "I know that the breakdown for this character is tall and willowy and blonde. I know she's short and round and brown, but I'd like you to see her." A fact that most fans already know is that the actress is actually a brunette in real life and the blond look of Daenerys is only reserved for the show.

The actress spends almost two hours in the chair getting transformed into the popular Mother of Dragons character with the team of hair and makeup braiding her hair, putting on a bald cap, and finally styling her wig.
