The popular Game of Thrones actress who portrays the iconic mother of dragons Daenerys Targaryenon the hit HBO series is being named Esquire 'Sexiest Woman Alive' in 2015.

The 28 year oldEnglish actress has alreadyreceived two Emmy Awardnominations for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series in 2013 and 2015, so she has certainly proven that she is more than just apretty face witha talent that continues to build a successful career in the Hollywood industry.

She recently starred in the movie Terminator Genisys, the fifth installment ofthe popular film series franchise, portraying the character of Sarah Connor alongsideArnold Schwarzenegger, reprising his role as the eponymous character.Although the movie failed to achieved critical and fans acclaim, it has nonetheless made over $400 million worldwide in the box office.

In the interview with Esquire, the actress talks aboutthe fact that she wasn't the first choice for the role of Daenerys, sincetheoriginal pilot for the show wasshot without the actress, but thankfully they had to recast some roles because apparently nobody was happy with it.

Emilia says that heragent told the casting director, "I know that the breakdown for this character is tall and willowy and blonde. I know she's short and round and brown, but I'd like you to see her."A fact that most fans already know is that the actress is actually a brunette in real life and the blond look of Daenerys isonly reserved for the show.

The actress spends almosttwo hours in the chair getting transformed into the popularMother of Dragons character with the team of hair and makeup braiding her hair, putting on a bald cap, and finally stylingher wig.

Emilia Clarkeis currently filming the highly anticipated sixth season of the Game of Thrones series. This will be the first season of the show that would be ahead of the books so far published by author George R. R. Martin.

Other upcoming projects for the actress include the filmsVoice from the Stone,a haunting and suspenseful romance set in 1950’s Tuscany, andMe Before You,an upcoming Americandrama film.
