The Season 21 lineup for Dancing with the Stars (DWTS) has been announced and should prove to be an exciting and entertaining competition. Premiering on September  14, this will be the first DWTS season without Head Judge Len Goodman at the reins.

Lineup of celebrities and their professional partners

  • Actress Alexa PenaVega from Spy Kids fame will be partnered with fan favorite Mark Ballas.
  • Actor and singer Carlos PenaVega will be partnered with pro Witney Carson. Note that Carlos and Alexa (above) are husband and wife. This should prove interesting for good-hearted rivalry and competition.
  • The late Crocodile Hunter Steve Irwin’s daughter Bindi Irwin will be the one to watch, as she was partnered with Derek Hough. Derek clearly has the capacity to teach anyone to dance like a professional in three easy steps. He should figure out how to bottle his talent for instruction.
  • 80s megastar singer Chaka Khan is partnered with Keo Motsepe, a relatively new and exceptionally talented pro to the show.
  • Hayes Grier, an internet Vine and YouTube Star who also has a clothing line with Aeropostale will be dancing with Emma Slater.
  • Singer-songwriter Andy Grammer who has had hits such as Keep your Head Up and Honey, I’m Good is partnered with Allison Holker. Grammer was originally partnered with beloved Pro Peta Murgatroyd, who had to back out of this season’s competition due to needing orthopedic surgery due to a medical problem with her ankle.
  • The Real Housewives of Atlanta reality TV star Kim Zolciak Biermann is partnered with the dashing Tony Dovolani.
  • Singer Nick Carter, member of the boy band Backstreet Boys, will be dancing with Sharna Burgess.
  • Paula Deen, the sometimes controversial former Food Network star, has been partnered with the phenomenal dancing instructor to dancing instructors Louis van Amstel.
  • Accomplished singer and star Tamar Braxton will be partnered with popular Pro Valentin “Val” Chmerkovskiy who won last season’s competition with actress Rumer Willis.
  • 2015 Triple Crown-winning Thoroughbred Jockey Victor Espinoza, known best for riding American Pharoah to victory, will be dancing with long-time DWTS pro Karina Smirnoff.
  • Alek Skarlatos, while likely a very last-minute contestant, is one of the American heroes who recently helped stop a gunman in a terrorist attack in a train headed to Paris. Pro Lindsay Arnold will be his partner.
  • And finally, actor Gary Busey should provide viewers with a charming underdog for the season. He will surely be entertaining and fun, and gain some fan favorite votes even if he struggles with the steps. His DWTS veteran pro Anna Trebunskaya may surprise us all by being able to pull the inner dancer out of Gary.

Judges Carrie Ann Inaba, Bruno Tonioli, and Julianne Hough will be returning, and the trend over the previous few seasons of featuring some celebrity guest judges is likely to continue in Season 21.

The live broadcasts will appear on the ABC network across the US.
