"Love & Hip Hop" is a reality television series broadcast on VH1. The show follows the lives of hip-hop musicians and producers. It began with the original franchise, "Love & Hip Hop: New York" in 2011.
New cast members are added every season but some original cast still remains. People who are cast on "Love & Hip Hop" are typically rising stars who are looking for an opportunity to make it in the music business. The group constantly deals with the drama that comes with working in the music industry, as well as the difficulties that come with mixing business and pleasure.
Although "Love & Hip Hop" focuses mainly on musicians and producers, the show also follows the lives of their loved ones and friends who are actors, video vixens, stylists, and personal assistants.
The most recent cast of "Love & Hip Hop: New York" includes Yandy Smith-Harris, Remy Ma, Kim "Kimbella" Vanderhee, Bianca Bonnie, Mariahlynn, Felicia "Snoop" Pearson, Tara Wallace, Amina Buddafly, Cardi B., Rich Dollaz, Peter Gunz, Mendeecees Harris, Papoose, Julez Santana, Cisco Rosado, and DJ Self as the main characters.
The show's success led to "Love & Hip Hop" spin-offs in Atlanta and Hollywood. There are currently over 17 seasons that have aired and a combined total of over 150 cast members.
The most recent season of "Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta" features Joseline Hernandez, Mimi Faust, Rasheeda Frost, Karlie Redd, Tammy Rivera, Tommie, Stevie J, Scrappy, Kirk Frost, Yung Joc, Wacka Flocka Flame, and Jessica Dime.
The current season of "Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood" is starring Ray J, Safaree, Keyshia Cole, Nikki Mudarris, Teairra Mari, Moniece "Kali" Slaughter, Princess Love, Miska Kalysha, Hazel-E, Lyrica Anderson, Fizz, and Floyd "A!" Bentley, Brooke Valentine, and Chanel West Coast, as well as others.
A new city spin-off will be premiering in the beginning of the new year in January of 2018 in Miami. Rapper Trick Daddy has confirmed he will be starring on the show, as well as female rapper Trina, and former NFL player Bryant McKinnie who is now a Grammy-award winning producer working with Lil' Kim. The new stars plan to deliver the drama that has come to be expected with the "Love & Hip Hop" show but with an added Latina flavor.
"Love & Hip Hollywood" is currently airing its fourth season on VH1 Mondays at 8:00 p.m.
