Donna Brazile, head of the Democratic National Committee, has been in a lot of headlines this year, but for all the wrong reasons; in October, Wikileaks revealed that Brazile had forwarded a CNN town hall question to the Clinton campaign before the event. Later that month, Brazile again found herself in the headlines after fumbling for an explanation for her seemingly unethical actions during an interview with Megyn Kelly of Fox News. On Sunday, Brazile managed to steal headlines yet again -- this time for directly contradicting President Obama's claim that Russian Hacking stopped in September after warning Vladimir Putin to "cut it out."

Hacking did not stop in September

During a Sunday interview with Martha Raddatz of ABC, Brazile told the host of "This Week" that the Russian attempts to hack into the DNC system did not stop in September, as the president asserted.

"They came after us absolutely every day until the end of the election. They tried to hack into our system repeatedly," Brazile told Raddatz.

While Brazile said that she supports a thorough investigation into the Russian hacking, she called out the president for his administration's failure to protect the DNC and its infrastructure.

According to Brazile, Russian interference wasn't to blame for Clinton's defeat. "I’m not going to sugarcoat what happened on Election Day. We, the Democratic Party have a lot of things that we have to do," she explained, referring to Donald Trump's ability to "crack the blue wall" by sweeping the historically Democratic-voting states of Pennsylvania, Michigan and Wisconsin.

During the interview Brazile accepted full responsibility for the cyber attacks on the DNC.

Brazile contradicts President Obama

While Donna Brazile deserves to be commended for taking responsibility for the Russian hacking of the DNC, the fact remains that her account of what happened contradicts the president's own statements about the hacking.

During a press conference on Friday, President Obama claimed that Russia's attempts to tamper with the U.S.

election process ceased after he spoke with Putin at an international conference in China. Obama said that he approached Putin directly in early September, warning the Russian leader that there would be serious consequences if he didn't "cut it out." Obama's exact words during the press conference were, "In fact we did not see further tampering of the election process."

In other words, either Donna Brazile or President Obama is not telling the truth to the American people.
