Whether we like it or not, the FBI’s actions of inserting itself into the 2016 presidential campaign has changed the course of the election and today when millions of Americans vote, we will find out either that Americans have elected Donald J. Trump as president, or that we have the first female president in Hillary Clinton. However, Secretary Clinton is then likely to be impeachedor somehow not sworn in as president once the full scale of the email scandal is brought to bear. FBI Director Comey implicated further investigation into Hillary Clinton’s emails 11 days before the electionand then backtracked 2 days before the election.

Wikileaks continues to dump Podesta’s emails but then itself was recently caught promoting a Clinton falsehood. No wonder most Americans at this point just want the election over with.

Political transparency in U.S. election

It is now the age of transparency in U.S. Politics, such as we have never seen before, with sites like Wikileaks.com and vault.fbi.com displaying what was once the province of government officials only. Here is what a casual observer can read on the FBI website:“The FBI’s investigation focused on determining whether classified information was transmitted or stored on an unclassified system in violation of federal criminal statutes….In furtherance of its investigation, the FBI acquired computer equipment and mobile devices to include equipment associated with two separate email server systems used by Clinton…” (Vault.FBI.govU.S.

Department of Justice, FBI ‘Clinton Email Investigation Mishandling of Classified Unknown Subject’ July 2016 ) Two separate email server systems? Donald Trump has said, “If she were to win, it would create an unprecedented constitutional crisis. It would grind government to a halt.”

(CNN “FBI clears Clinton again” 11.6.16) The Department of Justice today has deployed thousands of poll watchers across 28 states to view the voting process.

Will there be a repeat of the 2000 election with the disputed state of Florida’s results? And the Supreme Court deciding the winner?

FBI probes will continue in partisan endgame

Whether you believe that the FBI is trying to “throw the election” or whether you believe that the FBI is simply carrying out its proclaimed mandate to fight corruption among public officials, one thing is certain: neither side -Republican, Democrat, or other-will rest until they have uncovered the proverbial “smoking gun” against the opposition candidate, even after the election is over.

With Hillary Clinton, that portends to be a given: The Guardian newspaper has reported, “deep antipathy to Hillary Clinton exists within the FBI, spurring a series of leaks.”

(The Guardian ‘The FBI is Trumpland: anti-Clinton atmosphere spurred leaking, sources say’ 11.3.16) As for Donald Trump, Mother Jones magazine reported that “There was an established exchange of information between the Trump campaign and the Kremlin of mutual benefit.”

(Mother Jones ‘A Veteran spy has given the FBI information alleging a Russian operation to cultivate Donald Trump’ 10.31.16) It seems that these dedicated efforts to undermine American democracy could lead to a significant crisis after the election, with the possible removal of the elected candidate from office.

If that were to occur, President Obama could then invoke the “emergency powers” that he as President has within his authority during any national crisis. Then it is anyone’s game. See you at the polls!
