Last night during Lesley Stahl's "60 minutes" interview, Melania Trump says that she tells president-elect Donald Trump when he has crossed the line "all the time."

The new family of the White House

In the Trump family's first interview since the 2016 election, Melania Trump was given a chance to speak out on her husband's temperament, his Twitter account usage, and the responsibilities that come with the oval office. She says while Trump hears her, he is an adult and he knows the consequences of his actions. She says she gives her opinion, but "he could do whatever he likes with it."

On being first lady

Melania Trump says that she is strong and confident and will do what is right as the position comes with a lot of responsibility.

As many know, she has chosen cyberbullying as her cause for the next 4 years. She believes that it is a serious issue that starts with teaching our children how to treat and respect each other at an early age. She met with Michelle Obama and talked about raising children in the White House. She says the current first lady was "very gracious and very nice," and there was no awkwardness when they met despite the intense, highly-critical campaign.

On the upcoming scrutiny

Melania says that they are used to it already, even though it will be a higher level of scrutiny. Already on the campaign trail, despite her limited appearances after her first speech blunder at the Republican National Convention, Melania showed a close attention to detail in her outfit choices.

With the party-neutral choice of a white jumpsuit by Ralph Lauren on election night and the dusty rose blouse by Emilia Wickstead in a rare speech appearance as an appeal to women voters, Melania is navigating first-lady fashion with ease. It will be interesting to see her reaction to the intense scrutiny her son Baron will face entering his early teens while in the White House.

Temper vs. temperance

While many have been shocked by the more sober looking Trump since his election win, the American public remains weary of the Trump temperament. Melania Trump, on the other hand, has remained largely out of the public eye during the campaign. Recent appearances seem to focus on reassuring the American people that a Trump presidency will be much calmer and centered around what's best for all Americans.

Will Melania be the tempering force that keeps a President Trump in line?
