Rough beginnings for Moore in Ohio

In late September, Michael Moore announced via Facebook that he was set to perform at the Midland Theater in Newark, Ohio.

The town in Ohio is commonly referred to as the heart of Trump County. Locals were not particularly in support of the intended performance. The community board, which oversees the theater, informed Moore that his planned show was dubbed as being "too controversial" and officials were afraid that giving him the opportunity to perform there would result in losing long-standing patrons.

Moore responded to the communities board's refusal by stating it was a complimentand decided to perform at a show in Clinton County Ohio, at the Murphy Theater in Wilmington. This is another county with heavy support for Donald Trump, having over 25,000 voters with less than 500 being Democrats.

Moore's dislike of Trump is no secret

Moore has been extremely vocal about his dislike for Donald Trump. In December 2015, Moore visited Trump Tower protesting his remark calling to ban all Muslims from entering the U.S. with a sign that read "We Are All Muslim." It was also reported that Moore contacted Ivanka Trump in the past with a letter pleading for her to stop his campaign.

"Michael Moore in Trumpland" is based on Moore's one-man show in Ohio. Michael Moore is well-known for his highly controversial documentaries. His hit "Sicko" uncovered the American health industry, detailing how the medical industry in the United States seems to be more focused on profit than care.

In his most controversial film, "Fahrenheit 9/11,"he released information about the attacks that most Americans were not aware of. There is no telling what shocking information will be released in the newest documentary.

The documentary is expected to play in New York and Los Angeles over the weekend. It will also be available to download on iTunes.
