Year after year, Cubs fans hung in and cheered on for their favorite of teams, hopeful for sure victory. Yesterday, on October 22nd, 2016 at Wrigley Field in Chicago, that dream came true when they shut out the Los Angeles Dodgers 5-0, affording the team the honor to play in the World Series 2016.

All the fans throughout the park, including those in the bleachers, were ringing out the team's song, Go Cubs Go!!

Wrigleywas smoking with excitement, shouting, singing, clapping and cheering for their favorite team. The fantastic pitching performance by Kyle Hendricks led to the progression of the Chicago Cubs matchup with the Indians in theWorld Series.Fans were holding their breaths as the team clinched their win with a 6-4-3 double play and an impressive victory.

World Series 2016 and the Cleveland Indians

A crowd of more than 42,000 in attendance partied all night long after the Chicago Cubs won against the Los Angeles Dodgers, guaranteeing themselves a spot in the World Series 2016. The Cubs fanbase stretches far beyond Chicago, with loyal fans cheering all across the nation as the Cubbies just made history.

Starting pitcher Kyle Hendricks had it in the bag with two hits, six strikeouts, no runs, which is an accomplishment from a young man who never could last more than six innings. Kris Bryant, Dexter Fowler, Ben Zobrist, Addison Russell, Willson Contreras and Anthony Rizzo all made their mark in bringing the team to its victory, with Contreras and Rizzo each hittinghome runs.
