The 2016 election never ceases to amaze the American people, as one controversial act is upstaged by another. With the candidacy of Donald Trump in the race, nothing appears to be off limits, with even the bizarre becoming part of the norm.

Trump's porn history

As over 80 million Americans watched the first presidential debate last Monday, the over 90 minute event had various highlights that have since dominated cable news. One of the standout moments came when Hillary Clinton brought up Trump's past with former Miss Universe Alicia Machado, who the billionaire real estate mogul called out for gaining over 60 pounds in the months that followed her victory.

As expected, Trump retaliated, which included calling for his supporters to be on the lookout of an alleged sex tape staring Machado, calling her a "con." As reported by The Hill, via Buzzfeed, on September 30, Trump once made an appearance in a softcore porn.

In 2000, the former host of "The Apprentice" had a cameo appearance in a softcore Playboy porn film titled "Video Centerfold," staring the Bernaola Twins.

In the video, Trump is outside a limo surrounded by Playmates all around him. Trump is quoted as saying, "Beauty is beauty, and let’s see what happens with New York," before pouring champagne on the famous bunny logo for Playboy. The video describes Trump simply as an "entrepreneur." While Trump doesn't appear in any other parts of the video, the film includes naked women engaging in sexual acts with themselves and others.

Election update

While an appearance in a softcore porn film would normally be considered an instant disqualification for a presidential candidate, Trump is expected to weather the storm once again.

In the latest Real Clear Politics rolling average, Trump is trailing Clinton by three points, but has pulled ahead in Ohio, Colorado, and North Carolina. Despite his recent surge, the next round of polling will be reflective of his poor debate performance, his attack on Machado, and the recent scandal involving one of his companies violating the Cuban embargo under the country's leadership of Fidel Castro.
