Domestic violence is not something new, nor is killing a person for various reasons. But the most shocking events are those when a parent kills their own children. No matter the reason or the desperation a person might go through, killing your own child could only be considered an act of a very deranged person. After hearing about the mother shooting dead her own daughters of 22 and 17 in Texas, I came across many other stories with similar tragic events.

Christy Sheats shooting her two daughters

A mother shot her two daughters in the middle of a street in Texas on Friday. Authorities were alerted by a neighbor who heard the gunshotsand at the time they arrived, they found two girls lying on the ground. A policeman opened fire against the woman as she was carrying the gun and refusing to drop it.

One of the daughters died on the spot due to the injury, while the second one was transferred to a hospital in grave condition, where she died later.

It was a family dispute which degenerated. People are saying that today, the three women would still be alive if it weren’t for Christy’s love for guns.

4 children were strangled and another child was beat to death

A father from South Carolina killed his own children of 8, 7, 6, 2 and 1 years old. The authorities said that after he had picked them up from a day-care, he killed each one of them, one by one.

He placed the bodies in plastic bags and drove to Alabama where he left them in a shallow ditch. This event could have been prevented. Timothy Jones, the father, won custody over the children. The mother sued the South Carolina Department of Social Services as they did not fully investigate the allegations of abuse and could have prevented the children from going with their father.
