In what could have been interpreted as an April fools joke by fans, Guns N' Roses announced their "Not In This Lifetime" tour. Frontman Axl Rose, bassist Duff McKagen, and guitarist Slash made an appearance at the world famous Trubadour in Los Angeles to kick off their tour. Already slated to be the headliner at the Coachella festival later this month in California, they announced they will be on the road with 20 stadium dates for their summer tour. Axl and Slash haven't appeared together on stage since July, 1993 in Buenos Aires at the River Plate Stadium.

Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame

Guns N' Roses were inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame in 2012, creating an illusion for a reunion that was not meant to be. Axl Rose made it clear in a letter to the Hall and fans of his wish to be excluded, stating: "In regard to a reunion of any kind of either the Appetite or Illusion lineups, I've publicly made myself more than clear. Nothing's changed." The letter went on saying Izzy, Steven and Duff had played on stage on a few occasions with the lineup at the time.

In the letter, he thanked the Hall of Fame board "for their nomination and their votes for Guns' induction", but stated that no one was "permitted to accept any induction for me or speak on" his behalf for the induction. This letter was what cemented fans into believing there would never be plans for a reunion in this lifetime.

Speculation, negotiation

Speculation from hardcore Guns N' Roses fans for at least a partial reunion of a lifetime was confirmed according to the band's website.
