It wouldn’t be Christmas without the Grinch trying to steal it, and he’s up to his old tricks starting on December 3 in Islands of Adventure at Universal Orlando Resort. He joins the Whos in Seuss Landing for the "Grinchmas Who-liday Spectacular," a show telling the story of his transformation from a green meanie into an old softie who understands the true meaning of Christmas. He takes the stage with Cindy Lou Who, Martha May, and the other residents of Whoville, along with the show-stealing Max the dog. The story is set to a stirring score by Mannheim Steamroller.

Meet the Grinch daily

You can see the Grinch and his friends daily.

Check the show schedule for performance times when you arrive at Islands of Adventure. It’s included with your regular admission ticket. If you can’t get enough of His Grinchiness, book a special character breakfast on select dates. To get a taste of this popular Christmas show at the park, check out the video below. It’s shot from the side, so you’ll catch a glimpse of Max’s trainer giving queues and treats to the cute little canine actor.

See Mannheim Steamroller live

While the music in the "Grinchmas Who-liday Spectacular" is pre-recorded, Mannheim Steamroller fans have several chances to see the band live next door at Universal Studios Florida throughout the season. They’ll be performing concerts on December 3, 4, 10, 11, 17 and 18 on the Music Plaza Stage near the Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit roller coaster.

The concerts are free with your park admission and are standing room only, so plan to choose your spot early and enjoy all your Christmas favorites done in the inimitable style of Chip Davis. To get a taste of the show, check out the cast of the Grinch performing it live with the band in 2014:

Macy’s balloons tower above you

If you come for the concert, be sure to arrive at Universal Studios Florida early enough to catch the Macy’s parade, with balloons straight from New York soaring in the Orlando sky all along the parade route.

In addition to past favorites like the "Wiggleworm" and "Big Man Santa," this year’s version will include the new Virginia balloon of "Yes, Virginia," There is a Santa Claus’ fame. Mother Ginger from ‘"The Nutcracker" will also make an appearance this year. The parade has plenty going on down on the ground, too, with plenty of street performers building up the crowd’s excitement.

You can see last year’s parade in the video below. It’s a real thrill to see the balloons on TV for Thanksgiving and then witness many of them live and in person.

Like the other Christmas fun at both parks, the parade is included with your admission ticket. You’ll want to have tickets to both Universal Studios Florida and Islands of Adventure to ensure a full experience of everything that both parks have to offer for the holidays.
