The Rockin’ Burger Block Party kicked off its 2016 series on September 30th at Walt Disney World, with the first of three parties at the Epcot International Food and Wine Festival. Not only did party goers feast on seven different burgers, plus macaroni and cheese and Tater Tot bars and milkshake stations, but they also voted for their favorite burger out of all the night’s offerings. When all the votes were tallied, D-Luxe Burger came on top, with its chef taking home the golden Mickey Mouse trophy.

Disney Springs restaurant wins the prize

D-Luxe Burger is located at Disney Springs, where it opened earlier this year with a burger and milkshake menu.

It also offers French fries with a variety of dipping sauces. Its station at the Rockin’ Burger Block Party at Epcot served up the Southern Classic, which is topped with a fried green tomato on top of pimento cheese, bacon and lettuce. You don’t have to visit during the Epcot International Food and Wine Festival to try it. The restaurant serves it all year ‘round, along with other varieties like the Cluck Burger (a ground chicken patty), the BBQ Classic, and even a veggie burger.

Two more burger competitions coming up at Epcot

You can see the award ceremony at the end of the video below, with the chef and team from D-Luxe Burger proudly taking the stage and accepting their honor. Walt Disney World is hosting three more burger competitions at the Epcot International Food and Wine Festival, with the additional Rockin’ Burger Block Parties scheduled for October 14 and November 11.

Each party will feature a new slate of burgers, plus accompaniments, live entertainment, and of course the end-of-night voting to crown the top burger on each date. Each night will also feature a celebrity chef. Maneet Chauhan of the Food Network was on hand for the first party, as you can see in the video, and Alex Seidel and Jehangir Mehta will be there on October 14 and November 11 respectively.
