Apples can be cooked in a lot of meals but perhaps the best isthe apple cake. In Italy it is the most common homemade dessert in winter or autumn. Apples are synonymous withhealth and wellness, a remedy for many physical problems lsuch as constipation, loss of appetite, fatigue and nervousness, and they lower cholesterol LDL. This fruit prevents asthma and cancer and is also believed to drive away bad thoughts. They also help to protect the mucous membranes of the mouth and intestines and strengthens hair and nails.

Apple cake is a delicious dessert really famous and is a soft, fragrant and easy to prepare confection. It’s perfect for any occasion or family gatherings, and suitable especially for motherd with children as they might not have much time to prepare very complicated desserts. Ingredients for 6 servings

  • 700 grams of apples
  • 3 eggs yolks
  • 70 g butter
  • 300 grams flour (12 tablespoons)
  • 200 grams of sugar
  • 1 glass of milk
  • Grated peel of 1 lemon and the juice
  • 1 level teaspoon of cinnamon powder
  • 2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • a pinch of salt.


  • Let’s start to peel the apple, cut them into quarters, then sprinkle with the juice of a lemon.
  • Meanwhile beat the egg whites until stiff and separately whisk the egg yolks with the sugar. In a bowl of a mixer, put butter, sugar, the cinnamon, the eggs and then the milk. You should have a smooth mixture; you could also use a beater or a whisk.
  • Now add the flour with the baking powder and grated lemon peel. Then incorporate the egg whites until stiff ( this is the secret).
  • Add the apples into the mixture. Cover the pie with other slices of apple and some butter.
  • Then pour the mixture of apple pie into a 9-inch cake pan, greased with butter. Bake for 50 minutes at 350°F (180°C).
  • Remove your apple cake from the oven and let it stand for about 7 minutes.
  • At the end of this process, you will have a delicious meal that can be enjoyed for breakfast. Enjoy your meal.
