Games come in many types and crafting kits are one surefire way for creative kids to enjoy themselves. Multimedia publisher Insight Editions recently expanded its publishing company into children's crafts via the launch of IncrediBuilds, a new line of 3D wood models and educational guidebooks.The IncrediBuilds series includesa variety of fun, customizable, do-it-yourself, freestanding 3D models in various themes. No glue or tools are required to construct the unique models andthe materials are comprised of Earth-friendly FSC-certified wood.

Easy-to-follow, step-by-step directions, and decorating tips are included in each package.Recently Raoul Goff, the publisher and CEO of Insight Editions, spoke about IncrediBuilds and his hopes for the future:


Blasting News (BN):Can you please tell us more about Insight Editions and the company overall?

Raoul Goff (RG): Insight Editions is an independent publisherthat is based in San Rafael, California. We celebrate cultural milestones in film and television, music, comics, art, gaming, and sports via producing books and stationery products.

Since its establishment in 2001, Insight Editions has gained industry recognition for our highly detailed and visually stunning books. We frequently partner with top-rate entertainment companies in the entertainment industry to create books and products that fans love.

BN: How did you come up with the idea for IncrediBuilds?

RG: We wanted to create a product line that would bring our books to life, and in the process, help open the door to a greater, more creative world for children (and adults too) – and so we developed IncrediBuilds.

Since we have an extensive background in the publishing world, it was always part of the plan to include a Book with a model, which is educational, visually stunning, and offers suggestions and tips on how to customize and personalize the models.


BN: How many titles are you launching with? Do you have plans to launch more titles in 2017?

RG: We’re launching with 17 products this summer across two formats, the deluxe hardcover book and model set, and the individual kits.

We’ll have an additional 28 products this fall. Also this fall, we’ll launch IncrediBuilds Signature line, which features deluxe IncrediBuilds. Even more IncrediBuilds will be coming in 2017 featuring additional popular characters, animals, and monuments.

BN: Why did you decide to expand into the children's crafting aisle?

RG: Insight prides itself on product development and creating unique formats that are interactive and have a lot of play value. We have been doing this for many years with adults, and it was natural to extend our reach to younger fans and provide them, as well as parents, with more possibilities.

BN: How are you marketing the line?

RG: We’re marketing and publicizing the line at the national, regional, and local levels. That includes national publicity outreach to parenting media, but also local outreach in the form of special and exclusive mommy blogger giveaways and events. We’re targeting both children and adults as the popularity of adult coloring books shows that adults want fun, creative activities, and IncrediBuilds is perfect for them as well as for children. The IncrediBuilds line is incredibly diverse, featuring characters from Star Wars, Harry Potter, Captain America, Finding Dory, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and more.

As a result, that allows us to target the diverse fan bases of each of those franchises.


BN: Do you have plans to expand with more children's products? If so, what categories?

RG: Yes--Insight is already publishing children’s picture books, pop-up books, and film scrapbooks, and will continue to innovate and develop new formats that challenge, educate, and entertain children of all ages.
