The latest updates for "Dragon Ball FighterZ" will feature a new fighting stage, "Ruined City," and a gameplay mechanic that allows players to collect the seven mystical dragon balls during a match. Game Informer posted a new video highlighting the game's impressive graphics and fight animation.

The video also featured an epic battle between the Saiyan rivals, Son Goku and Vegeta, in their "Super Saiyan Blue" forms. The game is being developed by Arc System, the same company behind popular fighting game titles such as "BlazBlue," "Guilty Gear," and "Persona 4: Arena."

'Future Trunks' stage confirmed

The "Ruined City" stage is the home of Future Trunks and it has been featured in the "DBZ" and "DB Super" anime series.

In Trunks' timeline, the city was destroyed by Android 17 and Android 18, after they killed the Z Warriors. The stage is also the main setting for the game's story mode as android versions Goku, Vegeta, Krillin, and Piccolo invade the city.

Bandai Namco Entertainment introduced a new original character named Android 21 and she is revealed to be a researcher for the Red Ribbon Army. While the publisher did not reveal if Android 21 is an ally or an enemy, the latter did help Krillin and Goku revive Android 18 in the Tokyo Game Show teaser and she is often seen with Android 16 in the game's promotional photos.

So far, the stages in the game include the World Martial Arts Tournament Arena, Planet Namek, Cell Games, and the Sacred World of Kais.

New game mechanic

Game Informer's gameplay trailer also introduces a new feature that lets players collect all seven dragon balls in a single match. Producer Tomohko Hiroki told Shoryuken that the mechanic will represent a new system that is not found in any fighting title.

The dragon balls in the anime franchise will summon the mystical dragon Shenron, and grants a person any wish he or she desires. The game publisher will likely reveal more details about it before the end of the year.

Fans will have the chance to play as their favorite characters such as Gohan, Piccolo, Cell, Frieza, Majin Buu, Yamcha, Tien Shinhan, Android 16 and more.

Those who pre-ordered the game will have the chance to use SSJ Blue Goku and Vegeta.

The "CollectorZ" edition will feature a 18cm Goku statue figurine, three art boards, and a steel book casing. Tomoko also teased that the "FighterZ" will be a huge hit in the eSports competition, but they will have to cater first to the fans of the hit anime series.
