The upcoming 2.5D fighting titleDragon Ball FighterZ” gets more exciting for all the "Dragon Ball" fans as it approaches its official release early next year. Recently, Bandai Namco Entertainment offered a first look at a mysterious character that will play a big role in the game’s story mode.

In the latest issue of V-Jump, Bandai Namco teased fans with an early glimpse [VIDEO] of Android 21. This mysterious scientist is a new original female character, exclusively created by “Dragon Ball” creator Akira Toriyama for “Dragon Ball FighterZ.”

Not much has been revealed yet about this gorgeous female character, but it is said that she is a mysterious scientist who is just as smart as Dr.

Gero. She will play a pivotal role in the story mode, which narrates a “What If” story starring Android 16. However, it remains unknown if she will be a playable or non-playable character (NPC) in the game.

New playable characters

The game publisher also confirmed two new playable fighters and an assist character who will join the growing roster of the game. The scan featured in the magazine further confirmed the addition of Yamcha and Tien Shinhan. These two are newest playable characters to join the expanding roster of the 2018 fighting title.

The teaser image showed Yamcha unleashing his Spirit Ball and Neo Wolf Fang Fist attacks while Tien Shinhan is using his Neo Tri-Beam Meteor super. Also spotted in the scan is Chaozu, who will be included in FighterZ as an assist character.

Closed Beta happening

In more news, the closed beta has officially begun on Saturday, September 16 and will end on Sunday, September 17.

Players who get to participate in this closed beta will be able to play with 11 characters. The list includes SS Goku, SS Vegeta, SS Teen Gohan, Cell, Majin Buu, Frieza (Final form), Future Trunks, Piccolo, Krillin, Android 16, and Android 18.

Notably, the closed beta will not be active for the entire 48 hours, however. Players can boot it up on a prescribed three- hour schedule. For all players located in the North American region, the schedule is as follows:

September 16

  • 2:00 a.m. to 5:00 a.m. PDT
  • 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. PDT
  • 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. PDT

September 17

  • 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. PDT

“Dragon Ball FighterZ” is one of the video games that will be showcased by Bandai Namco Entertainment at the Tokyo Game Show (TGS) 2017. The biggest gaming convention in Asia will be held at Makuhari Messe in Chiba, Japan from September 21 to September 24. The 2.5D fighting video game is slated for release in February 2018.
