Bandai Namco Entertainment released a brand new trailer for the hotly anticipated “Dragon Ball FighterZ” and announced the game’s release window at the ongoing Gamescom 2017. The latest footage offers a first look at the new playable fighters and the game’s dark story mode.

New characters

The Androids, Android 16 and Android 18, are now officially confirmed as the latest fighters who will join the growing list of playable characters in the next Dragon Ball fighting game.

The latest trailer also reveals a glimpse at other new characters, Piccolo and Krillin.

Dark story mode

Moreover, fans also get a short peek at the dark story mode that promises a forbidden story to unfold in “Dragon Ball FighterZ.” The teaser shows Android 16 attack the Z-Fighters and the myriad dark versions of the main DB protagonists Goku, Piccolo, Krillin, Vegeta, and others.


The official blurb of the game’s story mode states that with the resurrection of Android 16 and the invasion of the mysterious army corps, the super warriors start to fall.

Pre-order details

Meanwhile, the game developer has now detailed the pre-order for PS4, Xbox One, and PC versions. The game will have a simultaneous release on all platforms in February 2018.

Players who make a pre-purchase of the physical copies of the game will be entitled to receive two early unlockable special bonus characters: Super Saiyan Blue Goku and Super Saiyan Blue Vegeta.

The upcoming fighting title also gets a Collector’s Edition that comes at a hefty $140 USD price. But this special package offers a Goku statue, steel bookcase, and other collectors’ must-have items.

Closed Beta Registration

In more news, the registration for “Dragon Ball FighterZ” closed beta is now officially open for PS4 and Xbox One players.


Those who want to get their hands on the game early can sign up via Bandai Namco’s website for PS4 or through the Xbox Insider program for Xbox One.

Earlier, the game publisher announced the slight delay in the closed beta to accommodate more players to participate in the beta program purposely.

The closed beta is now slated to run September 16-17. It is also noted that Bandai Namco scheduled an open beta for the game as well before it finally launches next year.

“Dragon Ball FighterZ” is a 2.5D fighting game developed by Arc System Works and set to arrive on PS4, Xbox One, and PS4 in early 2018. There is no word yet whether this game will hit Nintendo Switch in the near future.
