Manuel Noriega was the dictator of Panama. He was also a major drug trafficker, who shipped in drugs to the US. The US government ended up indicting him for drug trafficking and other serious crimes. However, in 1989 Noriega allegedly "suppressed democracy" by annulling a Panamanian election. However, what launched Operation Just Cause, was the killing of an off-duty Marine by Noriega's troops. The operation ended up lasting only four days.
