Vital Magazine celebrated its two-year anniversary Sunday, August 28, 2016, at the Oxygen Restaurant and Lounge, 10 S. Calvert Street, Baltimore, Maryland.Editor-in-Chief Cornelius Adams, Marketing & Advertising head Dana Dayne, and Editorial Partners Darlene Brown and Anne Thai honored business owners and activists Danny Clive Roberts, Jennifer Gelencia, Ciara Hosein, Tia Brooks Major and Yvonne Renee Davis, among a festive, energetic gathering, complete with dancing, hip-shaking music, fine food, drinks, and a birthday cake.

Over the last two years, Vital Magazine has been a publication that honors businesses and gives up-and-comers an opportunity to share their stories of success. Vital Magazine has given and continues to give individuals and businesses a platform to promote their brands.

Business leaders honored

Within the confines of Oxygen's festive atmosphere, Major received the "Creative Writer of the Year" award; Hosein received the "Humanitarian" award, and Roberts, Gelencia and Davis received "Entrepreneur" awards.

The vibe of the event was one of energy, hope, and optimism. From the music, to the vendors selling their wares near the dance floor, to the semi-formal attire and outfits, Vital Magazine's party was memorable all around.

Dayne told the energized crowd that too many publications focus on celebrities in the sports, entertainment, and Business worlds, but that in contrast, Vital Magazines chooses to promote stories about those achievers who are not as well-know. Dayne emphasized thatVital Magazine is a platform for up-and-comers to shine.Adams, Vital Magazine's offensive-lineman-sized Editor-in-Chief, and CEO of Vital Entertainment Group, Inc., expressed his deep appreciation of the business-owners and movers-and-shakers who attended.

Business leaders and the importance of networking

To the impressive, sizable crowd, Adams stressed not only the importance of Black people supporting Black businesses, but of the importance ofnetworking. Adams said that the time in which entrepreneurs can thrive as individuals is over. He emphasized the need for them to come together and work as a team---to make things happen.Dayne expressed amazement of the speeches of each of the honorees and the positive energy they brought to the room.

Activist Hosein gave a passionate speech about the importance of protecting Black lives and staying politically active.

Major spoke at length about her journey to becoming a creative writer, and then recited a poem. Davis, Gelencia, and Roberts expressed their heart-felt thanks to Vital Magazine.
