J.K. Rowling, author of Harry Potter series, is one of the best fiction authors and undoubtedly the first author who has accumulated the wealth of a billion dollars from the very art she has been involved in. Her success, in terms of money, had brought her to the Forbes’ billionaire list. However, Forbeshas recently excluded Rowling’s name from its list of billionaires due to the fact that she has been too inclined toward charity and donated $160 million to variouscharitable trusts that are functioning for the welfare of society.

Furthermore, she has founded her own trust, named Lumos, in Eastern Europe to provide aid to underprivileged children forced to live in unfavorable circumstances.

All of her charity activities consequently have lessened her net worth and in effect, Forbes has dropped off her name from the list of rich people.

A true inspiration

Her journey from an unemployed single mother to securing a status of billionaire has always been an inspiration for many. Those who are struggling financially but are determined to make their way out find a great connection with her story as she had also gone through struggles and heartbreaking moments before relishing the success of her first book. Though she had endured copious adversities to reach that level of billionaire, she believes holding the billionaire status is not as imperative as utilizing it for the betterment of the society.

For her, the most appropriate way is donating and performing moral duties on a global scale.

While many would feel associated with this thought, most people would prefer to keep their billion dollar wealth secure in a vault rather than extending helping hands to the poor. The system of education has taught us that a man’s worth can only be measured by the value of his bank balance.

As a result, instead of appreciating a generous deed, people exhibit it as a lessening value (as in the case of J.K. Rowling). The author has always been very vocal when it comes to her opinions on things, and ultimately it doesn't seem like she minds being taken off of the list.
