Prince George was photographed being escorted by his father William, the Duke of Cambridge, to his first day at Thomas’ Battersea school. He could be seen holding his father’s hand and nervously moving forward. He was wearing a small bag-pack and William seemed to give him a pep talk before he proceeded with one of the most important days of his life. Duchess of Cambridge, Kate couldn’t make it because she is suffering severe morning sickness. According to a report by The Telegraph, the Royal couple is expecting their third child. The news that Kate is 12 weeks pregnant, was announced on Monday, 4 September.

Everything you need to know

According to the BBC, the father-son duo was alone at first. As they arrived at the school gate, they were greeted by Head of Lower School, Helen Haslem who then took over and took Prince George to the reception classroom. He is set to experience a wholehearted first term school lesson. He will be getting to know different teachers and making new friends. His school uniform consisting of a Navy-colored V-neck pullover and Bermuda-style shorts were accompanied with long Red-colored socks and Black shiny shoes.

As suggested by Kensington Palace, he will be introduced to the school as George Cambridge. The annual fees at the family-run establishment, Thomas’ Battersea are approximately 17,604 pounds a year.

The students at the school are taught a wide variety of subjects such as French, music and physical education. They are also introduced to a range of new activities such as ballet, art and drama. Good Schools Guide describes Thomas’ Battersea as, “A big, busy, slightly chaotic school for cosmopolitan parents who want their children to have the best English education money can buy.

This is what they want and, to a large degree, that is what they get.”

Richard Fitzwilliams on Prince William

Richard Fitzwilliams, who is a personal commentator to the Royal family, was reported by BBC as saying, “William is determined to give his family as much privacy as possible and have a life as “normal” as possible but this is extremely difficult.” The family members are rather disturbed about the kind of paparazzi attention especially given to their children.

They have made several complaints to the Independent Press Standards Organization. But there is not much they can do about it as they are public figures. “They are in the royal fishbowl,” Fitzwilliams added.
