Trump Twitter account will continue to be active

Twitter received a letter of complaint from a musician-scientist named Michael Hawley enumerating the reasons why @realDonaldTrump must be shut down.

According to Hawley, Trump’s account encourages abuse, harassment, and lies. The tweet in question promotes violence and abuse according to CNN. The complainant further said that the President should be an example to his people but he himself puts his office in a compromising situation.

Twitter informed that there were factors considered in the investigation of the controversial tweet – political context connected to the tweet, the possible interpretation and the lack of details of the tweet. All factors considered, Twitter has no reason to shut down the account as there was an absence of any policy violation.

Donald Trump tweets criticized

The social media company bans violent threats by users, biases, and attacks based on race, gender, religion, and many others, verbal abuse, and harassment.

These are the basis for the filing of the complaint. A lawyer also called for the banning not just of the @realDonaldTrump but also the @potus account.

Concerned citizens and Trump detractors found a platform with which to air their various concerns but most of the comments slam Donald Trump for his provocative words. A good example of Trump’s below the belt reference was with the hosts of MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski. He called Scarborough a “psycho” and Brzezinski “crazy.” His tweet has also demoralized many Americans especially when he wrote about Mika’s plastic surgery.

Trump made his comments a day after Scarborough and Brzezinski talked about Trump’s mental and emotional fitness as a result of his Twitter attack about them as per USA Today. No other American president has created social media chaos. His all-out criticism sent through social media which Twitter cannot suspend will continue to proliferate. Donald Trump’s detractors end up gnashing their teeth.
