Oneplus 5T was officially launched worldwide on November 16. The phone is the upgraded version of OnePlus 5.

The primary difference between OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T is its display. The 5T smartphone features a fresh 18:9 Aspect Ratio. The physical home button is no longer present. The fingerprint scanner which was initially embedded under the home button is now present on the rear panel.

In terms of design

Aesthetically speaking, 5 and 5T look almost similar if not observed closely. In terms of measurement, the latest smartphone packs 156.1 x 75 x 3mm dimensions.

At the time of its launch, OnePlus 5 features 154.2 x 74.1 x 25mm dimensions. The newer model is evidently larger than its predecessor. Moreover, 5T weighs approximately 162 grams, which is heavier than OnePlus 5 that weighs 153 grams.

The Chinese company launched OnePlus 5 in three primary color variants: Soft Gold, Midnight Black, and Slate Gray. Meanwhile, OnePlus 5T has also been introduced in one primary color variant, Midnight Black. With this, the company decided to maintain its tradition as they had pulled off a similar move with the launch of OnePlus 3T last year.

Display

Coming to the specifications, OnePlus 5T is not very different from its predecessor. The major highlights of OnePlus 5 at the time of its launch were its screen size and the integration of a dual camera setup.

The handset features a 5.5-inch full HD AMOLED display with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels along with 401ppi pixel density and an aspect ratio of 16:9.

Both the smartphones are protected by Corning’s 2.5D Gorilla Glass 5. OnePlus has extended support for RGB and DCI-P3 color gamut in both its offerings.

Performance

Both the handsets are powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 octa-core system-on-chip (SoC). The device can be overclocked up to 2.45GHz. On the storage front, the devices are available in 6GB and 8GB RAM models.

The smartphones are further powered by a decent 3,300mAh battery that is non-removable by nature. The integration of Dash Charge Fast Charging technology ensures longevity.
