Most consumers are probably focused on Apple right now as the pre-order date for the iPhone X draws closer this month. However, a recent announcement from Razer has apparently drawn the attention of the crowd. The gaming-peripheral maker has teased the unveiling event for their rumored smartphone, which is scheduled to launch on November 1, 2017. Meanwhile, a few days ago a GFXBench listing also suggested that the new device will be called the RAZER Phone and listed some of its notable specifications. Now a new leak apparently shows us what the handset’s final design might look like.

Leaked photo of RAZER Phone

Slovakian tech site TechByte reportedly shared an image of the RAZER Phone’s rear panel, which reveals more details about its hardware. The GFXBench listed its main camera as a 12-megapixel unit only but did not specify any detailed description of its type. The leaked photo appears to confirm that the company has observed and applied the latest trend with flagship smartphone models, a dual-camera setup. The camera location is positioned at the top-left corner of its back cover. The dual-sensor unit is aligned horizontally and carries its LED flash all the way to the left.

The color and texture of the unit is the company’s signature black (as expected) and its material is presumably metal with the usual brushed matte texture of its other products.

Another detail that surprised us was the color of the RAZER logo right in the middle. Instead of green-on-black, the outlines of the three-headed serpents are in white. Earlier this month on Twitter, company CEO Min-Liang Tan had a photo taken with Nextbit founder Tom Moss. While the photo might same seem ordinary at first, a closer look at the former’s pocket shows what looks like a mobile phone with the all-too-familiar logo in a green outline.

Impressive hardware

According to the listed specs for the handset, one of its impressive features is its massive 8GB RAM. That along with an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 CPU rated at 2.4GHz and an Adreno 540 GPU is already more than capable when it comes to mobile gaming.

Storage starts off at 64G for its internal memory but does not confirm if microSD storage is included. The smartphone will run Google’s Android 7.1.1 software with a customized skin.

Price and availability

Apple’s iPhone X is already going to cost a fortune, and the RAZER Phone has yet to reveal its price. However, buyers can be assured that it will be priced competitively in order to attract buyers. As of now, there are no clues as to when it will become available, but it doesn’t seem that far off. Obviously, the gaming company plans to grab a slice of the mobile market pie this Holiday season. Therefore, buyers can expect to see the new model soon.
