Smartphone enthusiasts who got their hands on Google's recently launched Pixel 2XL smartphone discovered that the device was plagued with display-related problems. But much to their relief, they can look forward to an imminent arrival of another device that might prove to be an ideal alternative, if latest rumors about OnePlus’ upcoming smartphone are anything to go by.

OnePlus' new flagship smartphone

The internet is rife with reports suggesting the Shenzhen-based Chinese smartphone maker is on the verge of releasing the OnePlus 5T. The speculation stems from a few recently surfaced renders of the purported handset.

A new teaser image of the handset has found its way onto the internet as well. As if that weren't enough, an event invitation for a November 5 launch was doing rounds on the internet, but OnePlus debunked the rumors and verified the invitation was a fake. There's also hearsay that the OnePlus 5T would feature a trivial camera upgrade.

More shreds of information leaked

On Wednesday, October 25, tech tipster Evan Blass (@evleaks) heard about the new OnePlus 5T details from a couple of dependable sources.

Aside from confirming that OnePlus is indeed gearing up to unveil a new device that sports an 18:9 display aspect ratio, Blass even found out that the rumored handset will hit the store shelves at the end of November.

According to one of his recent tweets, the yet-to-be-confirmed OnePlus 5T will make an appearance post-November 20. Meanwhile, the internet is brimming with all sorts of speculations about the upcoming smartphone. Let's take a gander at some of them

On the photography front, the device is expected to come with an enhanced 20+20MP dual camera, and a bigger display with an 18:9 aspect ratio.

Under the hood, it could pack a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 CPU. As reported by GSM Arena, there's a possibility that the device might boast a bigger battery. The speculations stem from what the company did with the OnePlus 3T. The aforesaid report also suggests the device will be backed by a robust 3,450 mAh capacity battery, which is a reasonable 4.5% boost.

OnePlus founder and chief executive Pete Lau is leaving no stone unturned in a bid to build more hype around the upcoming smartphone.

On Wednesday, October 25, Lau teased the OnePlus 5T by posting a picture of beautiful scenery. He drew attention to the device's camera with a caption that read, "Impressive photo. Must be a great camera."

Although he did not divulge specific details, including the name of the device used to take the picture, IndiaToday deems this as a clear indication of the OnePlus 5T's looming arrival.

The post also implies that the upcoming smartphone may receive a radical upgrade in terms of the camera when compared to its predecessor, the OnePlus 5, which features rear-mounted dual cameras with 16MP and 20MP sensor each.

Price and other details

The OnePlus 5T is expected to come bearing a price tag of $549 for the 64GB variant. It can be recalled that the company launched the OnePlus 5 carrying a starting price of about $509 for the 6GB + 64GB version. Some previously surfaced reports, on the other hand, suggested the OnePlus 5T is likely to come bearing a steep price tag.

According to a recently divulged Oppo Mart listing, the OnePlus 5T will be up for grabs in two versions. While one will have 64GB internal storage, the other will come with 128GB of internal storage. Furthermore, the 64GB will sell for $549, while the 128GB version will be available at a price tag of about $649.
