Apple rolled out its iOS 11 mobile operating system about a month ago, but emoji enthusiasts are eagerly awaiting the operating system’s major update. Apple revealed that iOS devices would acquire some new emojis with the release of iOS 11.1 update.

Apple announced on its Newsroom that the new emojis will first roll out in the software update’s beta next week and will be released later on to the public. The Cupertino-based tech firm has yet to announce the official release date of the iOS 11.1 update.

The iOS 11.1 update is expected to arrive with new food icons, such as pie, dim sum, broccoli as well as the typical takeout container.

The update will feature a selection of the latest mythical characters, which include wizards, fairies, vampires and mermaids, Tech Radar reported. The software update will also bring some emojis unveiled on World Emoji Day (July 17), such as Breastfeeding, Woman with Headscarf as well as the Bearded Person.

According to The Verge, the animals department will be added with a hedgehog, zebra, giraffe, sort of a Brachiosaurus and an insect that seems to be a grasshopper. The latest emojis will also include a crazy face, a person rock climbing, new cursing face emoticon and a mind-blown emoji.

iPhone X

The new emoji for iOS devices could be solace for Apple enthusiasts who do not plan on purchasing the iPhone X.

The iPhone X is set to be available with a customized animated emoji, called Animoji. Apple device owners will be able to choose from several Animojis to demonstrate their emotions on iMessage via the Face ID camera of the iPhone X.

iPhone 8’s crackling sound

However, the forthcoming software update follows iOS 11.0.2 update, which the company launched this week.

The 11.0.2 update fixed iPhone 8’s crackling sound while making a phone call as well as FaceTime call.

Operating system’s features

The iOS 11 operating system came in hard by offering several new features, such as augmented reality app, a Do Not Disturb While Driving feature, customizable Control Center, new Files App, and an improved Siri.

The operating system also features updates to Photos and iMessage. In spite of that, the iOS 11 operating system did not come along with the Apple Pay feature, which the tech firm announced during the 2017 Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) event. But, this particular feature will be available in the operating system’s upcoming updates.
